Super Sunday and Goalless Thriller at Villa

    Crystal Palace at home to West Brom kicks this weekends’ Premier League football off at Selhurst Park, the Eagles find themselves in 10th place following their 1-0 win away to Watford, whilst West Brom had been in good form also before Monday nights’ defeat to Everton.

    Palace have had some tough assignments so far this season and have shown that they can mix it with the best the Premier League has to offer, I feel they will just be too strong for a West Brom side who have been good on the road but may struggle to cope with the pace and pressing power that Crystal Palace possess.

    Dave’s Betting Tips;

    Treve (Arc)/Everton/Man City/Chelsea 1pt win @ 11.15/1

    Wolves v Huddersfield/Arsenal v Man Utd/A.Villa v Stoke – 3 draws – 0.5pt win @ 44/1

    Sergio Aguero 1st Goalscorer – 2 pt win @ 3/1

    Aston Villa v Stoke – No Goalscorer – 1pt win @ 8/1

    Super Sunday has two massive games on the cards with the Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park and Arsenal hosting Manchester United at the Emirates.

    Everton go in to the lunchtime kick off on Sunday in excellent form, the blues are unbeaten in four games, including a win against Champions Chelsea, whilst Brendan Rodgers will be hoping victory will release some of the pressure being put on him at present.

    Last weeks’ 3-2 win over Aston Villa will have been a timely confidence boost ahead of this clash, however the draw on Thursday evening to FC Sion of Switzerland has added even more emphasis on a Liverpool win.

    Everton have an inform Romelu Lukaku in their hands and he will make life very difficult against what has been a very shaky Liverpool defence, the loss of their captain Jordan Henderson has been a massive blow for the reds and everything to me just points to an Everton win, at the prices available I have to add them to my acca.

    Current league leaders United will be looking to maintain their excellent recent form against a mixed Arsenal side, who’s chances won’t have been helped with defeat in the Champions League at the hands of Olympiakos, the two saving graces at Arsenal right now are Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez who have both been amongst the goals recently, they will provide a stern test to a stubborn United back line.

    Louis Van Gaal’s men will surely turn up at the Emirates with a back 3 and 2 defensive centre midfielders, with the emphasis put on the pace of Anthony Martial and Memphis Depay when on the counter, it is a tricky affair and one that could swing either way therefore I would have to predict a draw in this one.

    My banker for the week is Manchester City to beat Newcastle, City were drubbed 4-1 away at Tottenham last weekend but a late winner in midweek has brushed that aside immediately, with David Silva back in the line-up I simply think City will have too much firepower for their rivals on Saturday, with the away side still looking for their first victory of the season.

    Although he’s not a great price I’m willing to go 2 points on Sergio Aguero 1st goalscorer with a best price 3/1 with Coral.

    City have plenty of attacking options but Aguero is the main man in their line up and he should get plenty of space around the Newcastle back line.

    The final team I’m adding to my acca this week is Chelsea, Jose Mourinho has had a torrid time of late and defeat in midweek at his old club Porto would not have helped matters, confidence seems at a real low and the pressure is beginning to build at Stamford Bridge, however the price has been reflected as an in form Chelsea side would never be 5/6 to beat Southampton at home and I always say form is temporary but class is permanent, it can surely only be a matter of time before Fabregas and Hazard move out of first gear so I’m hoping to take advantage of their value.

    My acca is completed with a horse, Treve to win the Arc, this would be a fairy-tale story and it certainly boosts the acca’s price.

    My final bet of the day will be at Villa Park where Aston Villa host Stoke City, both teams have been struggling for form in the league and find themselves languishing towards the rear of the table, there is no way either team will want their opponents to take all 3 points on Saturday and although both teams have been scoring goals, I look at their line ups and don’t see much in the way of firepower and as both teams like to play with a typical counter attacking style, I can’t see who will break down either defence, therefore I will be having a small bet on the No Goalscorer option at 8/1.
