The highlight of this weekend’s Premier League fixtures for me is the Saturday evening kick off at the King Power Stadium, where surprising leaders Leicester City take on Manchester United. Claudio Ranieri’s side have not looked back this season and have proved a formidable outfit, whilst Manchester United continue to grind out results despite their lack of attacking intent.
Leicester striker Jamie Vardy goes in to this game looking for a record of scoring 11 goals in consecutive Premier League games, but this will be a tougher task than he has previously encountered. The away side continue to prove themselves tough to break down but I am still far from impressed with Louis Van Gaal’s negative tactics. Yes, it seems to be getting results but will they be able to sustain that throughout the season?
This one is too close to call, however the no goalscorer bet at 10/1 with Betfred does appeal. I will be adding this game to my win draw win acca however.

Spurs v Chelsea
Sunday’s 12pm kick off at White Hart Lane sees an in form Tottenham host Chelsea in what looks a very close encounter on paper.
Chelsea still have certainly improved their form in the past couple of games and Eden Hazard in particular is now looking more like the player that shone through last season, whereas Tottenham are unbeaten since their first day defeat to Manchester United and with Harry Kane firing them in again they will be a tricky opponent for the London rivals.
The draw looks a good bet here and I will be adding them to my draws acca. If your feeling Spurs can keep their run going, a Draw no Bet may be an option for you.
Villa v Watford
Aston Villa are in desperate need of points and may have found the perfect opportunity to provide Remi Garde with his first win as manager, the home side were destroyed by Everton last weekend but their manager has had another week with his side, and I’m sure given his passion and fire that he has had all hands to the pump to make sure a repeat of last weekend doesn’t happen again.
Watford were on the verge of a great draw against Manchester United last weekend but a last minute winner prevented this and they may yet be feeling sorry for themselves.
At 7/4 Villa have to be the value bet for me.
Bournemouth v Everton
Another bit of value in the football betting market is at Bournemouth where Everton are the visitors.
Having watched Everton last week I begrudgingly have to say that I was very impressed, as similar to my beloved Liverpool they looked like they were really enjoying themselves on the field.
With all their star players looking in hot form it is going to take some performance from the home side to stop the Toffees.
At even money Everton have to be part of this weeks’ acca.
Palace v Newcastle
The final leg of my win acca is at Selhurst Park where I’m expecting Crystal Palace to inflict more pain on Newcastle manager Steve McLaren.
Palace suffered a surprise defeat at the hands of Sunderland last weekend but Sam Allardyce now has Sunderland playing as a unit and they were tough to break down.
Newcastle are in terrible form and I can’t see how they will turn things around this weekend against a side managed by a man who knows a lot about the Newcastle team.
First Goalscorer
My first goalscorer bet this week is at the Etihad Stadium where Manchester City host Southampton.
City were taught a lesson last weekend but lightning very rarely strikes twice for the hosts, they will be looking to make amends this weekend to keep the pressure on at the top of the table.
Sergio Aguero gave City the only shining light last weekend with an exquisite finish and with William Hill offering 10/3 on his first scorer, that can’t be sniffed at.
He is another great value bet in my opinion.
