Boxing Day Betting Tips

    It’s the most wonderful time of the year, no not Christmas, Boxing Day fixtures are almost upon us and it’s a time we really look forward to but here we’re focusing on the Premier Leagues Boxing Day fixtures.

    Dave’s Boxing Day Betting Tips;

    Acca – Stoke, Chelsea, Spurs, Man City – 1pt win @ 7.57/1
    Acca – Man City/Arsenal/Derby/Peterborough/Aberdeen – 1pt win @ 9.57/1
    First Goalscorer – Harry Kane – 1pt win @ 10/3

    Stoke City v Manchester United

    Boxing Day kicks off at the Britannia Stadium where Stoke City take on Manchester United. Stoke have been the epitome of inconsistency so far this season, impressing with well-earned victories over Chelsea and Manchester City but them confusing people with lacklustre displays against Sunderland and Crystal.

    As seen in the recent press conference Louis Van Gaal is really feeling the pressure at the moment, with United failing to win in their last Premier League games speculation has led to the Dutchman being replaced by Mourinho, which has appeared to anger Van Gaal.

    Stoke’s summer reinforcements really seem to finding form at the right time with Shakiri and Affelay putting in some promising performances alongside Bojan and Buckland, which is sure to cause some concern to United. At 12/5 Stoke represent good value and I don’t think you’ll see them at that price for this fixture again.

    Liverpool v Leicester City

    This will be an intriguing fixture as Liverpool host this seasons sensational surprise package in Leicester City. After a great start to life at Anfield Klopp is experiencing a severe dip in form since the demolition act on Southampton, which wasn’t helped by the injury to Martin Skrtel, whereas Leicester are showing no signs of slowing down as they sit 2 points clear of Arsenal.

    In think this could be a turning point for Klopp and a chance for him to get Liverpool’s season back on track, as Leicester are sure due a defeat. I’m not backing this myself but if I was going to have a bet I’d consider taking even money on the home side.

    Southampton v Arsenal

    The late Boxing Day game sees an inform Arsenal travel to St Marys to take on a struggling Southampton side. Arsenal are currently six games without a loss compared to the Saints, who haven’t won since 7th November and Ronald Koeman seems at a loss as to what is wrong with his previously dominant side.

    Following the return to fitness of Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ramsey and Walcott, Arsenal are now a daunting team to face. Therefore I feel Southampton have a tough game on their hands and will be lucky to come out with a point, with that in mind my prediction is an Arsenal 3-1 win.
