Can Liverpool Gun Down Arsenal at the Emirites

Two massive matches await us this weekend as leaders Manchester City visit Everton on Sunday in the 4pm kick off, with Liverpool traveling south to face Arsenal on Monday, our resident tipster has put together his thoughts on how the action might play out.

    Dave’s Premier League Betting Tips

    Pedro – anytime Goalscorer @ 7/2 (888 Sport)

    Wayne Rooney 1st Goalscorer – 1 pt. win @ 7/2 (Betway)

Everton v Man City – 7/1 Man City to beat Everton

Man City have looked impressive so far this season and appeared to be at the top of their game when defeating Champions Chelsea last weekend, they have bolstered their side further this week also with the signing of Nicholas Otamendi for a fee believed to be in the region of £32m.

The home side are not to be under-estimated though following their impressive 3-0 victory away to Southampton last week. Having watched both games last weekend I thought both sides looked extremely good in defence and it will take some great skill to break through either, especially on a tight Goodison pitch, however confidence must be flying at City and with their power upfront it will be tough for anyone to keep them at bay.

I think they might snatch this one but Everton Win, Draw no bet at 7/2 is very tempting.

Arsenal v LiverpoolArsenal to win – 7/1 OR Liverpool to win – 10/1 (coral)

The other big match of the weekend is Monday Night Football’s Arsenal v Liverpool. Arsenal got back to winning ways last weekend against a decent Crystal Palace side, whilst Liverpool have won their two openers 1-0.

I thought Arsenal still lacked in their defensive play against Palace and seem to be low on confidence, their attacking play however in parts looks tremendous.

Liverpool have looked a different ball game to the past few years under Brendan Rodgers so far this season, it looks like Rodgers has set his side out to keep a clean sheet and try to snatch a goal. This has clearly come from their poor defensive performances in recent years, however they have not shown the zest going forward that they once had.

Despite that however his plan has worked in the first two games, sneaking by with a 1-0 win in both fixtures, but they will have their work cut out to do that at the Emirates.

Arsenal are a very short price given the form of their visitors, however I think they will prove too strong for Liverpool and will form part of my weekend acca.

Other Premier League Fixtures – 15/1 Treble – Man Utd, Swansea & Crystal Palace (betfair)

Elsewhere in the Premier League Manchester United will be looking to head the table, even if only for a few hours in their home game against Newcastle United, while Crystal Palace host Aston Villa looking for their first win of the season.

Hot in form Leicester take on Tottenham and Norwich will be looking to show their Premier League credentials against Stoke. Sunderland have looked poor so far this season and will hope to change their fortunes when they host a neat Swansea side.

West Ham take on Premier League debutants Bournemouth and Chelsea are surprisingly looking for their first win of the season away to West Brom on Sunday, likewise will Watford and Southampton, who face each other on Sunday also.
