    Premier League Preview

    Swansea v Liverpool

Saturday lunchtime sees Jurgen Klopp take his scoring Liverpool side to play Francesco Guidolin’s Swansea City.  Guidolin is beginning to come under some pressure at the Liberty Stadium, no win in five matches and a league cup exit can tend to do that.

To be fair to Swansea their fixture list hasn’t been too kind to them.  So far they’ve played last year’s Champions, an in form Chelsea, Southampton plus league leaders Man City twice. To throw Liverpool and Arsenal in the mix is tough on their new manager, it would be a harsh decision for the Swansea board to make if they decided to sack him on the back of those games.

That being said, they are languishing next to the relegation zone and something needs to improve.  I would certainly recommend backing them to stay up should they lose their next two games, as I think they will be a nice price and they are better than that position would suggest.

Liverpool come here in a hot streak and I cannot see anything other than an away win, it will take a superb performance from the home side to even get a draw.  Liverpool proved last week that they can open up the lower league opposition, wilfully disposing of Hull City and the confidence they displayed puts them in a very good place going in to a busy period.  At 9/20 they are short but have to be part of any acca.

    Tottenham v Manchester City

The Big game for the weekend comes at White Hart Lane where Tottenham host league leaders Manchester City.  Both teams are unbeaten this season with City having the only 100% record left in the league this season.  Spurs have been picking up results without being flashy whereas City have looked outstanding, the return of Sergio Aguero last week couldn’t have been better planned.

Both teams have been hit with big injuries, Spurs are without Kane and Rose whilst City have lost De Bruyne.  The home side have unearthed a diamond in Son Heung-Min, who has scored four in his last three league games.  The midfielder has taken his opportunity with both hands and has made a telling impression.  With his hot streak in mind I am taking him to open the scoring in this game at a nice 15/2.

The game itself is too close to call so I’m going for a draw, 1-1 can be backed @ 13/2.

    Burnley v Arsenal

Burnley will have been buoyed by their 2-0 win against Watford, but more so by the level of performance.  It was a marked step up since their surprise win against Liverpool, which makes them a different proposition to what Arsenal would have encountered a couple of weeks ago.

However Arsenal are on form at the moment, averaging over 3 goals per game in their last four games. It’s going to take a monumental display to stop the Gunners in their tracks, so Arsenal make our Acca.
